Top Quality Preforms
Our preforms are made of top quality raw materials provided by world leaders of the chemical industry, and are micro-biologically tested on a regular basis by accredited laboratories. PET is an incredibly versatile material with countless packaging applications.
PET, short for Polyethylene Terephthalate, is a polyester compound similar to clothing fabric that is heated and molded into plastic bottles for package goods and beverages. So why PET? PET is strong, chemically stable, shatter-resistant and economical. PET can be reused and recycled back into plastic bottles and containers. or into other materials such as carpets, clothing fibers, construction materials and so on. Plus, PET recycling programs are available in every municipal region in North America.
PET is recognized worldwide for its safety by health authorities.
PET forms a barrier against temperature, UV light and oxygen, increasing your products shelf life and preventing break down. Our preforms are FREE from:
BPA (Bisphenol-A), a chemical found in other plastics that can cause adverse health effects, such as psychological and physiological complications. Studies even show a possible link between BPA exposure and a later increased risk of cancer and higher incidence of heart problems, while the National Toxicology Program at the FDA expressed concerns about BPA's possible effects on the brain and behavior of infants and young children.
Phthalates (phthalate ester plasticizers), which are a group of chemicals used to make plastics more flexible and harder to break. Recent studies show that phthalates can cause damage to the liver, kidney, lungs and reproductive system. One phthalate in particular, DEHP, is an endocrine disruptor and can cause cancer. Chemically, PET is a very different molecule from phthalates.
Any hormonal (endorcine) disruptors. There is no data that links PET to hormonal modulating activity.
